Bob MacKenzie

While Poem de Terre's performance crosses all genres and draws on many influences, at heart the music is folk. As much as the music, words are central to Poem de Terre's work, bringing stories and ideas to the community as live and recorded musical performance. The core material of Poem de Terre is based on the words of Canadian poet Bob MacKenzie and original music by a variety of composers. A multi-disciplinary ensemble, Poem de Terre brings together original, eclectic folk music and spoken word performance with contemporary and established musical forms. Begun in 1993, the ensemble evolved organically to develop a sound and style that features a strong repertoire of original material as well as distinctive interpretations of music and spoken word previously performed or recorded by other artists.
