55th Division Comrades Association: Objects and Rules
Scan of a booklet of the objects and rules of the 55th (West Lancashire) Division's veterans organization. This unit served on the Western Front during the First World War, participating in the Battles of the Somme and Cambrai, among others. Although just eight pages (one blank) in length and without photos or information about the unit's service, it is still an interesting and unique document.

Die Gefallenen des Reserve-Infanterie-Regts. 93
This is a facsimilie reprint of pages 300 to 368 of R.I.R. 93: Geschichte eines Regiments im Weltkriege which consists of a list of men who were killed, died of wounds, or went missing while serviving with the regiment. In all, there are over 3,000 names. The R.I.R. 93 was the sister regiment of the 4. Garde-Regiment zu Fuss, but for most of the war was part of the 5. Garde-Infanterie-Brigade of the 4. Garde-Infanterie-Division. Unfortunately, most of the scans have lines toward the bottom of the pages that somehow occured during the scanning/editing process. They, however, do not make the text that they intersect unreadable.

Military Barracks at Hamilton, Ontario, Canada c. 1917
Image is taken from an unused postcard, which was probably issued in 1917. It shows the barracks that were constructed on what was at that time the outskirts of Hamilton, Ontaio on what was known as the Scott property. Initially, it was used by the Depot Regiment, Canadian Mounted Rifles which had previously, I believe, been stationed in London, Ontario. The unit consisted of men from throughout the province and the United States, but many Hamiltonians joined the unit while it was in Hamilton. One of the men stationed here early in 1916 was Harry Brown, VC. After the war, I believe that some of the barracks were moved to Bartonville and used as a school. Eventually, Ivor Wynne Stadium and the now closed Scott Park Secondary School was built on the property.

Soldiers of the Imperial German Army #14
Here's an interesting picture, certainly not what I had expected to receive when I purchased this on-line; I had been led to believe that these were men, but in fact all except the officers/instructors appear to be in their early teens--mere boys. No doubt this photo was taken towards the end of the war when the Germans were getting desperate for manpower.
